Last weekend before break . . .
Surprisingly, my O.Chem final this morning wasn't as evil as I thought 'twould be--'twas difficult, yes, but I think I did pretty well (though I might have confused some of the mechanisms) and I may have even gotten part of the bonus question right! :D I went to lunch with Dana, Erin, and Kelly afterwards . . . and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing. Seriously. Since lunch, I've read maybe 3 chapters of The Scarlet Letter, wandered around on LJ (ooh, I should make some icons--I *still* haven't finished my songset yet), read a bunch of fanfiction, and made yet another paper snowflake to add to my wall (since Selinsgrove has no snow yet *is sad*)--which makes a total of 3. And it's not that I'm slacking off, either--I don't have anything to do. I can't go home until Thursday because of my US History final in the morning, but I don't have anything at all on Wednesday and 'tis impossible to study for my History final because 'tis all analysis . . . As promised, here is weekend-ness:
Friday we finished up our DNA sequence experiment in Genetics--this was exciting because we found out our own DNA sequences . . . being me, I emailed my sequence to myself, printed it out in my dorm, and it is now hanging on the outside of my door (yup, I'm pathetic) . . . at around 8, Dana, Erin, and I (Kelly joined us after a few minutes) decided to watch some CSI (Dana has the first 2 seasons on DVD and is hoping she'll get the 3rd and 4th for Christmas)--we ended up watching 6 episodes!! After the "You've Got Male" one, we had the shocking thought that we're all going to end up with convict boyfriends, or at least Kelly is (you have to see the episode to know what I'm talking about . . . by the way, does anyone else watch CSI?) and we realised we really like Sara angst ('tis like the sad songs thing).
Saturday there was Genetics study-age with Jess for awhile . . . in the evening I had my Christmas party. Dana, Erin, and I exchanged gifts (the rest of our group wasn't there yet, but they didn't have gifts). Dana absolutely loved the CSI Italian charm Erin and I got for her (Dana's the CSI-obsessed one--I'd never seen it before last year, and I only really started getting into it this year) and Erin loved the charm bracelet and cat charm Dana gave her and the Snoopy cookie book I gave her. I absolutely love both the presents I got : Dana bought me a copy of Jane Eyre (which has a literary critique by Virginia Woolf [along with other authors] at the end of the novel, plus, there's a Virginia quote on the cover :) )--I read it over the summer for the first time and loved it . . . I was even more suprised to open Erin's gift and see she'd given me the scarf that she had been working on since the beginning of last year--I now have a Gryffindor scarf! *squee* :D Sarah, Emily, Benny, Richie, and Kristin came over at around 10 or so (about an hour after the party started) and I gave them their gifts: sadly, Benny and Richie already have 2 sets of poker chips (I didn't know they had bought some when I got their gift), but 'twas okay because Erin had cards so they started a poker game. Sarah and Em of course enjoyed their new calendar (they're both obsessed with Orlando Bloom) . . . Dana and I ran over to Vicky's room to give Chris and her their presents (they'd just gotten back from a Chamber Singers performance)--Dana gave them adorable little snowmen ornaments with their names on them and I gave Vicky a CD of the Josh songs that aren't on his albums (the songs on the "Josh Extras" CD Shooshers burned me last year) along with the songs on the Internet Edition of Closer since I didn't know which version she had . . . We were hungry, so we decided to order pizza . . . at 11:30 (hehe). I'm not sure who won the poker game--the last time I was paying attention, I think Kristin was winning. I'm no Clarissa, but I think my party went quite well :D
Sunday was a day of hard-core O.Chem study-age. At 9:30, Dana, Erin, Kelly, Erin Smith, and I went to Deg to hear President Lemons read " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas"--we ended up sitting in a corner with Nate, Erin Wente and a bunch of other Seibertians. Sad thing was, our little corner was the one who was guessing (correctly!) the bad Christmas jokes President Lemons was telling. He and his two daughters (his son didn't want to) gave a little skit where his youngest daughter was praying for what she wanted for Christmas, including "And let all the SU students get 100's on their finals". The student population in Mellon Lounge literally exploded (no understatement). President Lemons then proceeded to read an illustrated copy of " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas", complete with showing us the pictures :) Then the psychiatrist from the Health Center (I don't know what his name is) led all of us in singing Christmas carols as he played the guitar. I went to Midnight Caf with Erin Smith, Kelly, and my Erin--sadly, there was no strawberry cream cheese for my bagel, but I did put English toffee syrup in my tea (Lipton, though) . . . then there was more O.Chem study-age.
Yesterday, though 'twas Monday, definately didn't feel like a Monday. I got up at around 11ish, studied for Genetics with Jess for a little, and then did more O.Chem study-age . . . we had our Genetics final at 3, but I went over a little earlier so I could post my "Self-Evaluation" on my Bio Portfolio web page (something all SU bio majors have to do). In the odd chance that you actually want to see my Bio Porfolio, here's the link: http://comenius.susqu.edu/BI/201/02/smithmichelle/HomePage.htm ('tisn't very interesting, though) The final wasn't too hard (well, 'twasn't technically a final as it was just a last test), although a few questions were tricky. Afterwards, you guessed it, there was more O.Chem study-age. (Although I did make another icon and post my colourbar to my icon journal)
And now I'm all caught up--yay :)
