My first attempts at icon-making

These probably won't be very good, since they're my first attempts, so I'll gladly take advice and hints from any of you people with icon skills :) For all but one of these, I found the pictures online and then added the text . . . here goes:

                  

                     

    This is the one I didn't make, as you could probably tell--I'd saved it before to use as a desktop background, and all I did was make it smaller (although 'tis hard to read,the "background" of the icon is the music for "Music of the Night" [ouch--that sounded rather redundant]

  I'm having trouble with this one--the text on the bottom half of the icon gets messed up when I save the picture, and I don't know why . . . the text is supposed to read "We cannot choose where we love", from Susan Kay's Phantom (although now that I look at it, the quote might be "None of us can choose where we will love" . . . I'm going to have to check on that tomorrow . . .)

Making icons is fun--I have even more ideas for Phantom ones, and I have plenty of pictures to use for Josh ones--hehe . . . Goodnight!
